About Me

Like the symbiotic relationships found within woodland ecosystems, my practice is a network of drawings, walks, observations, and explorations that work together as a whole. My current practice is a journey to create new patterns and images through processes of reflection, experimentation, and adventure. Through a process of drawing outdoors and developing work in the studio, a sense of ancestry emerges. Sketches made while walking through woodland become the starting point for new drawings, which in turn generate further images, multiplying and evolving over time. 

These eventually transform into the shapes, marks, rhythms, and patterns that form my paintings. At times the work retains traces of the trees, landscapes, and habitats that inspired it. At others, it develops its own visual language, shaped by experimentation, material exploration, and the act of making itself.

Rooted in a deep connection to nature, the resulting paintings exist somewhere between observation and invention, reflecting both the natural world and the processes through which images grow, change, and adapt.
